Attorney General DeWine Seeks Reimbursement from Dealership

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Calland Auto Group LLC and Christopher Calland. The lawsuit accuses the dealership and its owner of failing to provide consumers with motor vehicle titles as required by Ohio law and seeks reimbursement to the state’s Title Defect Recision Fund.

The Ohio Attorney General Information Technology Services, Windows XP Announcement

Effective April 8, 2014 Microsoft stopped delivering software updates, providing technical assistance and support for Windows XP (XP) and Internet Explorer 8 (IE8).  As a result, XP and IE8 will still work on devices, but moving forward the continued use of XP and/or IE8 exposes your device to security risks, threats, vulnerabilities and viruses.   Additionally,  as software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize and leverage more current versions of Windows Operating Systems (OS) and IE, users will begin to experience that more and more applications and devices simply don’t function properly or fail entirely.

Cleveland Area Companies and Owners Agree to Pay $100,000 for Past Environmental Violations

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that the former land owners, business owner, and construction company involved in the operation and the demolition of the now-defunct DLH Plating on Cleveland’s east side will pay $100,000 total for past air pollution and hazardous waste violations.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Ohio SunTrust Customers to Receive $1.8 Million as Part of $550 Million National Foreclosure, Mortgage Servicing Settlement

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that Ohio is part of the $550 million multi-state settlement with SunTrust Mortgage, Inc. The settlement was agreed to by 49 states, the District of Columbia, The U.S. Department of Justice, and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Preble County Attorney Sentenced to Prison, Must Pay $208,000 in Restitution

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that a Preble County attorney was sentenced to spend time in prison after an investigation found that he stole more than $200,000 from multiple residents while acting as their financial guardian.
