Attorney General DeWine Announces Winners of High School Consumer Video Contest

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced the winners of the 2015 Take Action Video Contest, in which Ohio high school students were asked to create 60-second videos about cybersecurity, identity theft, or student loans. 

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office received 217 video submissions from more than 370 students representing more than 40 schools throughout the state.

The winners were:

They will receive college scholarships of $2,500, $1,500, and $1,000, respectively.

“Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to everyone who participated in this contest,” Attorney General DeWine said. “There were many creative submissions. It was great to see so many students get involved and promote important consumer protection topics.” 

Attorney General DeWine also recognized the following finalists of the 2015 Take Action Video Contest:
  • Austin Lepard, John O’carz, and Liz Rochford (Perry High School)
  • Ryan Nadzam and Henry Wathen (Revere High School)
  • Andreea Costinescu (Upper Arlington High School)
  • Abby Depp and Katherine Havlicek (Bellbrook High School)
  • Gatlin Weyer, Jalen Grinter, and Kelsey Dillard (Alliance High School)
  • Alec Cole and Justin Oliver (Trumbull Career & Technical Center)
  • Johannah Fisher and Chase Marfut (RULH High School)
Today’s announcement coincides with National Consumer Protection Week, March 6-12, 2016, when organizations across the country promote consumer education.
