BCI’s rigorous dedication to integrity, accuracy and excellence in its daily work has led to recognition from international organizations that judge how well agencies comply with professional standards.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) has accredited the bureau since 1998, most recently in 2020, and BCI’s Laboratory Division has been accredited by ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) or a precursor since 2002.

BCI Science School

Science School

BCI created Science School to teach fourth-grade students about forensic science and related careers. The STEAM lesson plan offers hands-on experiments and inquiry-based learning to solve fictional crimes.
