Ohio Attorney General and Associations Team Up to Promote Proper Disposing of Prescription Drugs

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and representatives from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Outdoor Advertising Association of Ohio today announced this year's first National Take Back Drug Day on April 28, 2012. In addition the Attorney General announced a campaign with several statewide associations to distribute posters to their members to help remind Ohioans how to report prescription drug abusers.

Attorney General DeWine Sues Florida Telemarketer for Do Not Call Violations

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Florida telemarketers FBK Products LLC and FBK Holdings LLC (collectively FBK), and their principals, Gary Kranz, Steven Kranz, and Marc Rona, for calling Ohio consumers who were on the National Do Not Call Registry and violating Ohio’s consumer laws.

Attorney General DeWine Sues Cleveland-Area Man for Running International 'Investment' Operation

(CLEVELAND) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Cleveland-area resident Steven Sigman for running an online investment operation that took hundreds of thousands of dollars from international consumers and failed to deliver on its promises. The lawsuit charges Sigman, doing business as Company Express, with violations of Ohio's Consumer Sales Practices Act.

Attorney General DeWine and Hamilton County Prosecutor Deters Announce Indictment of Man for Stealing from Storm Victims

(CINCINNATI) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters announced today the indictment of a man who allegedly stole more than $43,000 from at least nine victims in Ohio and Kentucky who had storm damage to their homes. The indictment was the result of a collaborative investigation by the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section - Economic Crimes Division, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, and the Jackson Township Police Department in Stark County, Ohio.

Attorney General DeWine Joins States in Antitrust Lawsuit Against Apple and Major Book Publishers

Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that Ohio has joined with 15 state attorneys general in an antitrust lawsuit against Apple, Inc., and three major publishers alleging antitrust violations in the market for electronic books. (e-books) The lawsuit says Apple and publishers Simon & Shuster, Penguin and Macmillan conspired to change the way e-books are priced, costing consumers more than $100 million in overcharges.

Attorney General DeWine Sues Duct Cleaning Business for Consumer Law Violations

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Rob’s Cleaning Service LLC, a Columbus-based air duct cleaning business, and owner Robert Kimberly. The lawsuit charges the business and its owner with multiple violations of Ohio consumer laws, including misrepresentation and shoddy work.

Attorney General DeWine Visits Bowling Green Campus and Toledo Hollywood Casino

(TOLEDO, Ohio) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today traveled to Northwest Ohio, making stops in Bowling Green and Toledo.

In Bowling Green, Attorney General DeWine met with Bowling Green State University President Mary Ellen Mazey to discuss plans for a new state-of-the-art Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) lab to be located on the campus of Bowling Green State University.
