8,658 Pounds of Pills Discarded in Drop Box Program's First Year

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that residents in southern Ohio disposed of more than 8,600 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs by using drop boxes provided by the Attorney General's Office, Ohio Department of Health, and Drug Free Action Alliance.

Attorney General DeWine Seeks Restitution for Consumers of Ohio Optical Stores

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today filed a lawsuit against two Florida companies that operate Stanton Optical, which has three stores in Ohio — in Toledo, Miamisburg, and Beavercreek. The lawsuit charges the businesses with multiple violations of Ohio’s consumer laws.

Four Indicted in Statewide Office Creeper Case

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell today announced that a Warren County Grand Jury has indicted four individuals in connection with a statewide crime ring that involved sneaking into dozens of the biggest corporations throughout Ohio and stealing credit cards from employees who had left their purse or wallet unattended in their desk or office. The crimes took place at two of the largest employers in Warren County and employers in several other counties.

No Bill Returned in Ottawa County Grand Jury Reviewing Woodmore Football Case

After a thorough investigation by both the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and by attorneys in his office, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today reported the Ottawa County Grand Jury has returned a no bill regarding events that occurred on or about Sept. 10, 2013, involving the Woodmore High School football team and any related events. The Grand Jury met over two days and heard testimony from 49 witnesses.

Demolition Grant Program Update Shows 6,000 Abandoned Properties Demolished

Ohio Attorney General DeWine announced today that his Demolition Grant Program has surpassed 6,000 properties demolished. DeWine provided an update on the program as part of a keynote address at a neighborhood revitalization conference in Columbus, "Revitalizing Ohio's Vacant Properties: Tools and Policies to Transform Communities," sponsored by the Greater Ohio Policy Center and Thriving Communities Institute.
