Attorney General’s Fugitive Safe Surrender Partners Sign Agreement for June Summit County Fugitive Safe Surrender Event

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that representatives with his office signed an agreement with 18 Summit County partners to hold the Attorney General’s Fugitive Safe Surrender Program on June 25, 26, 27, and 28 in Summit County.   While it’s not an amnesty program, Fugitive Safe Surrender does give people with outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants a chance to resolve those issues in a church or other community-based setting.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Extension for Moving Ohio Forward Grants

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that he is extending the deadline for the Ohio Attorney General’s Moving Ohio Forward demolition grant program.  The deadline to complete demolitions to receive funding was May 31, 2014 and will now be extended to September 30, 2014.

Attorney General DeWine Releases Annual Ohio Missing Children Clearinghouse Report

In advance of National Missing Children's Day on Sunday, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today released the 2013 Ohio Missing Children Clearinghouse Report, which documents that 18,599 children were reported missing in Ohio in 2013.

Father, Son Arrested on Federal Human Trafficking Charges

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio Carter M. Stewart joined members of the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force, including Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs, Ohio State Highway Patrol Colonel Paul Pride, and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Marlon V. Miller, in announcing the arrests of a father and son on federal human trafficking charges.

Two Defendants to Serve Prison Time in Mansfield Tyger All Sports Booster Case

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that two defendants who pleaded guilty to charges accusing them of improperly spending scholarship funds meant for Mansfield Senior High School student athletes have been ordered to serve a year in prison.

Attorney General DeWine Rejects Petition for “The Ohio Clean Energy Initiative” Amendment

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today rejected a petition seeking to amend the Ohio Constitution by adding “The Ohio Clean Energy Initiative” because the petitioners did not submit the minimum valid signatures required.
