(BATAVIA, Ohio) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking the public for assistance in locating a sex offender who has failed to register his address with authorities as required by law.
Deputies with the Clermont County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for the arrest of Michael Hayslip on May 30, 2012. He is wanted for failing to provide a change of address.
According to public records, Hayslip, a sexually oriented offender, was convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in 2000.
He has a tattoo of a gargoyle on his upper right arm and a "Fighting Irish" tattoo on his back.
Hayslip is also listed as one of the Clermont County Sheriff's most wanted offenders.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Michael Hayslip should contact the Clermont County Sheriff's Office or the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at 855-BCI-OHIO (855-224-6446).
This news release is part of Attorney General Mike DeWine’s Crimes Against Children Initiative. As part of the Crimes Against Children Initiative, Attorney General DeWine will publicize convicted sex offenders who have victimized children and are wanted on outstanding warrants. Other parts of the initiative include the establishment of a Crimes Against Children Unit at BCI, creation of a rapid response team for crimes against children, and specialized law enforcement training through BCI and the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA).
