Attorney General DeWine Praises Medical Board’s Revocation of Lundeen’s License

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine praised today’s vote by the Ohio State Medical Board to permanently revoke the medical license of James E. Lundeen Sr. The board’s vote follows the recommendation of a hearing examiner who found last month that Lundeen was overprescribing medication to patients at his offices in Portsmouth and Plymouth. The Attorney General's Office has been involved in the investigation and represented the Ohio State Medical Board at the license hearing.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Consumers Will Receive $75,000 in Pinnacle Security Settlement

In a settlement announced today by Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, Utah-based Pinnacle Security has agreed to pay more than $75,000 in restitution to 169 Ohio consumers and additional restitution to consumers who file eligible complaints with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office within the next 60 days.

Ohio and New Mexico Sign Concealed Carry Reciprocity Agreement

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and New Mexico Department of Public Safety Cabinet Secretary Gorden E. Eden, Jr. have signed an agreement that permits reciprocity between their states for citizens who have valid concealed carry permits.

Attorney General DeWine and Justice Stratton Convene First Meeting of the Attorney General’s Task Force on Criminal Justice and Mental Illness

Attorney General Mike DeWine and Ohio Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Stratton today convened the first meeting of the newly-formed Attorney General’s Task Force on Criminal Justice and Mental Illness.  Justice Stratton and Attorney General DeWine will co-chair the Task Force.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Settlement with American Home Mortgage Servicing

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced an agreement with American Home Mortgage Servicing Inc. (AHMSI) to settle a 2009 lawsuit filed in Franklin County Common Pleas Court that alleged AHMSI violated Ohio consumer law by providing inadequate services to consumers seeking loan modifications.

DeWine Joins 53 Other Attorneys General in Fight Against Robo-Calls to Cell Phones

Attorney General Mike DeWine today joined 53 other attorneys general in a letter to Congress asking it to oppose legislation targeting consumers' telephone privacy.  The "Mobile Informational Call Act of 2011" [H.R. 3035] would amend the Communications Act of 1934 and allow for robo-calling to all cell phones, leaving consumers to foot the bill, DeWine said. For example, debt collectors and other businesses could place automated "informational" calls to cell phones, which would have an impact on those who pay by the minute or have a limited number of minutes available.

Attorney General DeWine Awards Missing in America Project $6,000 Veterans Charity Grant

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today awarded a $6,000 veterans charity grant to the Missing in America Project. The grant was funded by proceeds recovered in the investigation of the U.S. Navy Veterans Association, a fraudulent charity scam which solicited donations intended to benefit veterans.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that the Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Kit Commission has unanimously approved a new recommended submission policy for sexual assault kits in Ohio.
