DeWine Attends Opening Arguments Session Before U.S. Supreme Court Regarding Constitutionality of Health Care Act

Attorney General DeWine Files Antitrust Complaint Against Two Rock Salt Producers

Attorney General Mike DeWine said today that he has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Cargill, Inc. and Morton Salt, Inc. alleging actions that resulted in above-market prices being paid by the Ohio Department of Transportation and other government entities around the State for rock salt, used to make wintry roads safer for travelers.

State, Marietta Company Settle Hazardous Waste Violations

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that the State of Ohio has entered into a Consent Order with Eramet Marietta Inc. (16705 SR 7 South, Marietta). The order resolves violations of Ohio’s hazardous waste laws, including the company’s inadequate response to a previous release of a hazardous waste chromium solution at the facility.

U.S. Supreme Court to Hear Ohio Murder Case

The United States Supreme Court agreed this morning to hear an Ohio murder case.  Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is seeking review of a lower court’s decision to delay all legal proceedings for Sean Carter, who was convicted for the rape and murder of his adoptive grandmother, Veader Prince.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Conviction in Medicaid Billing Fraud

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Attorney General Mike DeWine said that Alicia K. Mahone, of Cleveland, was convicted on Wednesday for billing for home health care not provided in the amount of $20,000. Mahone regularly submitted bills, from April to December 2010, to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services claiming to have provided 35 hours of patient care to a Medicaid recipient, while only having provided 15 hours.
