Attorney General DeWine Announces More than 6,200 Kits Tested as Part of Sexual Assault Kit Testing Initiative

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that forensic scientists with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) have now tested more than 6,200 sexual assault kits as part of a special initiative to test rape kits that had not before been tested for DNA.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Ohio, Other Pension Funds Will Seek Lead Plaintiff Status in Petrobras Securities Fraud Suit

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that he has filed a motion for the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System to join other pension funds in leading a class of investors in a lawsuit against a Brazilian company for violations of federal securities laws. The litigation against PetrĂ³leo Brasileiro SA (“Petrobras”), a semi-public oil and gas company run by the Brazilian government, alleges widespread bribery and corruption on which the company’s business has revolved for over a decade.

Suspect Arrested in Connection with Double Homicide, Warrant Issued for Second Suspect

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and members of a special, multi-jurisdictional task force formed to investigate the double homicide of Doyle Chumney, 88, and and Lillian Chumney, 79,  announced today the arrest of one of two suspects believed to be responsible for the crime.  A warrant has been issued for the second individual.

Man Accused of Murdering Lieutenant in 1981 Indicted on Additional Charges

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Washington County Sheriff Larry R. Mincks Sr. announced today that the former deputy charged with the 1981 death of Washington County Sheriff's Deputy Lt. Ray "Joe" Clark is now facing additional charges.

Attorney General DeWine Releases 2014 Human Trafficking Annual Report

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today released the Ohio Attorney General’s Office Human Trafficking Report, which outlines efforts of the Ohio Attorney General’s Human Trafficking Commission in 2014 to strengthen protections for victims, create stiffer penalties for traffickers, and educate Ohioans on human trafficking and what can be done to stop it.
