News Conference Announcing Ohio Elder Justice Act

On February 21, 2013, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine joined State Representatives Mike Dovilla (R-Berea) and Wes Retherford (R-Hamilton) as they announced the introduction of the Ohio Elder Justice Act. The bill will help protect Ohio's senior citizens from abuse and improve the response to elder abuse victims by strengthening Adult Protective Services in Ohio.

Active Shooter Training for Educators

On January 17, 2012, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine joined educators and law enforcement officers at the first regional "Active Shooter Training for Educators" class, taught in Columbus. Two training sessions were held at the Education Service Center of Central Ohio, where Attorney General DeWine addressed participants. Eight additional regional courses are scheduled in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo and the Athens area. The courses do not include firearm training.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Improved BCI DNA Turn-Around Times

On January 4th, 2012, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that forensic scientists working at the Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) are now processing DNA cases in a record turnaround time of 20 days, despite a 34-percent increase in DNA submissions from law enforcement from December 2010 to today.
