Attorney General DeWine Sues Cleveland-Area Foreclosure Rescue Company

(CLEVELAND, Ohio) – Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against K&R Marketing LLC, doing business as Fix My Mortgage Problem. The lawsuit charges the business and its owner with multiple violations of Ohio’s consumer laws, including failure to deliver.

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against California-based CTI Group LLC (CTI) for unfairly calling Ohio consumers who were on the National Do Not Call Registry and for violating Ohio’s consumer laws.

Attorney General DeWine Files Complaint Against House of Hope Children’s Home

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Attorney General Mike DeWine today filed a complaint against House of Hope Central Ohio in Crooksville. The organization serves children in difficult circumstances, but it is not properly licensed according to the complaint and, in 2011, a resident of the facility was charged with gross sexual battery and gross sexual imposition against a former resident.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine Announces Pilot Program for 'Aged-Out' Foster Care Youth

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today a new pilot program to help homeless 18 to 24 year-olds who often have trouble receiving assistance and are disproportionately victims of crime.  The Older Youth Victim of Crime Initiative will focus especially on those who have "aged-out" of the foster care system.

DeWine Joins Attorneys General in Urging Hollywood to End Smoking in Youth-Rated Films

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today joined Attorneys General from 37 states and territories in calling for the end of smoking being depicted in youth-rated films. The request was made in a letter sent to the chairmen and CEOs of ten major motion picture studios.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Agreement to Environmental Investigation at Former Explosives Manufacturing Site in Central Ohio

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Attorney General Mike DeWine said today that a consent decree has been agreed to by his office, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA), Otterbein University and the U.S. Department of Defense that will outline responsibilities in investigating contamination on the former Kilgore Manufacturing property, located at 600 N. Spring Road in Westerville (Delaware County). The property is now owned by Otterbein.

BCI Begins Examining Evidence in U.S. Navy Veterans Association Case

Attorney General DeWine is also asking for the public’s help to determine the suspect’s real name.   Investigators believe “Bobby Thompson” is just one of several aliases the man used during his lifetime.

DeWine Joins Attorneys General in Urging Congress to Raise Cap on Crime Victims Fund

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today joined Attorneys General from 45 States, 4 Territories, and the District of Columbia in urging Congress to increase the Cap on the Crime Victims Fund. The request was made in a letter sent to the leaders of the House and Senate Subcommittees on Commerce, Justice, and Science.

Attorney General DeWine Announces $10.75 Million for Ohio as Part of National Abbott Laboratories Medicaid Settlement

Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that Ohio has joined with 49 states, the District of Columbia, and the federal government to reach a $1.5 billion settlement, the second largest recovery from a pharmaceutical company in a single civil and criminal global resolution agreement, with Abbott Laboratories. In a separate but related settlement, DeWine today joined 44 other states and the District of Columbia in announcing a $100 million settlement with Abbott Laboratories over allegations of illegal off-label marketing of its drug Depakote, marking the largest consumer protection based pharmaceutical settlement ever reached.

Ohio Law Enforcement Officers Join Attorney General Mike DeWine for 25th Annual Ohio Peace Officers' Memorial Ceremony

(LONDON, Ohio) –  Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and members of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy joined law enforcement officers from throughout the state today to honor six Ohio peace officers who died in the line of duty in 2011.
