A Sandusky County Grand Jury today issued its findings in the 2007 death of an Oak Harbor man in jail custody. While it did not issue any indictments, the grand jury reported numerous findings regarding the case through its authority to issue a public supplemental jail inspection report.

Attorney General DeWine Issues Statement on Asian Carp Ruling

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine issued the following statement on the decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit to affirm the dismissal of a case brought by the Attorneys General of Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania to require the federal government to develop a permanent hydrologic separation to prevent Asian carp from reaching the Great Lakes.

Attorney General DeWine and Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association Unveil Sex Offender Reverse Lookup Feature

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and the Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association today unveiled a new reverse lookup feature accessible through the Electronic Sex Offender Registration and Notification (eSORN) Database, which is maintained by the Ohio Attorney General's Office. Starting today, the new feature allows anyone to input unfamiliar phone numbers, email addresses, social media screen names, and video game handles into the database to try to determine if they belong to a registered sex offender in Ohio.
