(CINCINNATI) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that four adults and one juvenile have been charged in connection with an unprovoked attack on three individuals in May.
A Hamilton County Grand Jury today indicted each of the following four defendants on single felony counts of Felonious Assault, Aggravated Riot, and Ethnic Intimidation, and two misdemeanor counts of Assault:
- Matthew Johnson Jr., 23, Cincinnati
- Joshua McCoy, 21, Cincinnati
- Onea Lapsley, 22, Cincinnati
- Yahdea Brown, 19, Cincinnati
A 17-year-old male is also facing the same charges.
The attack, which happened on West Ninth Street following the Taste of Cincinnati festival on May 24, 2014, occurred at approximately midnight.
Daniel J. Breyer, of Attorney General DeWine's Special Prosecutions Section, is prosecuting the case at the request of Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters whose son, Jonathan T. Deters, 23, was among the victims.
