Attorney General DeWine, Five States Request U.S. Supreme Court Grant Review in Asian Carp Lawsuit

Five states including Ohio today requested that the United States Supreme Court grant review of a district court’s denial of their motion for a preliminary injunction in the states’ invasive species lawsuit. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and four other attorneys general filed a Petition for Writ of Certiorari requesting the Court “grant review and reverse to abate an imminent threat to one of the most precious freshwater ecosystems in the world.”

DeWine Joins Prevent Blindness Ohio, Ohio Optical Dispensers Board To Stop Dangerous Sales of Cosmetic Contact Lenses

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine along with Prevent Blindness Ohio and the Ohio Optical Dispensers Board are warning consumers about the dangers of over-the-counter sales of decorative contact lenses during this Halloween season. According to the Optical Dispensers Board, the number of consumer complaints filed regarding the illegal sale of cosmetic contact lenses and the number of resulting cease and desist orders issued to violating businesses have shown a steady increase after a period of decline, especially during the Halloween season.

Domestic Violence is Target of ‘Cut It Out’ Training for Salon Professionals

Salon professionals throughout Ohio are being trained to help prevent domestic violence and assist victims through the free “Cut It Out” training offered by the Crime Victim Section of the office of Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and the Ohio Board of Cosmetology.
