Piepmeier to Head Prosecution Team in Beavercreek Walmart Shooting Case

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Stephen K. Haller today announced that Mark E. Piepmeier, Chief Trial Counsel Attorney in the Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, will lead the prosecution team presenting evidence to the special Greene County Grand Jury that will be impaneled to investigate the Beavercreek Walmart officer-involved shooting death of John Crawford, III.

Attorney General DeWine’s Economic Crimes Unit Assists in Romance Scheme Case; Maryland Man Indicted

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that work by his Economic Crimes Unit, a division of the Consumer Protection Section, helped lead to the indictment of a Maryland man on charges related to a scheme to defraud elderly individuals of more than $1.1 million.

Trash Pickup Service Accused of Failing to Deliver

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Abraham Jaros, of New Carlisle, for failing to deliver garbage collection services after accepting upfront payments from consumers. More than 600 individuals are believed to have been affected.

Attorney General DeWine Sends Fraud Education Toolkits to Ohio Libraries

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that his office has sent Senior Advocate Fraud Education (SAFE) Toolkits to more than 700 Ohio libraries. The project is funded through a grant obtained by the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Cedarville Police Chief Chris Gillaugh announced today that a Logan County man was arrested in Indiana following the theft of approximately $30,000 from Cedarville University.

Attorney General DeWine Seeks Restitution from Laser Liposuction Business

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Wellness Laser and Med Spa LLC, which operates in central and northeast Ohio, for unfair and deceptive business practices. The Attorney General is seeking consumer restitution, an injunction to stop further violations, and civil penalties.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine Announces Pilot Program for Heroin Addiction Recovery

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine joined Lucas County Sheriff John Tharp, Lucas County Prosecutor Julia Bates, members of the Lucas County Board of Commissioners, Dr. John Laux of the University of Toledo, and other community officials to announce the development of a new pilot program aimed at helping those suffering from heroin addiction get the assistance they need to move towards recovery.
