Attorney General DeWine Sues Owner of Cleveland-Area Roofing Company for Consumer Law Violations

(CLEVELAND) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Matthew Schultz, the owner of All Season Roofing & Home Improvement, for multiple violations of Ohio consumer law, including failure to deliver and shoddy work.

Attorney General Announces Sentence of Business Owner

Carolyn Quinnie, owner of 3 Ease Home Health Care, was found guilty of felony theft in April.  Today a judge also sentenced her to a suspended sentence of 15 months in jail, with five years of community control.  An investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Attorney General's Office found that the 57-year-old was billing Medicaid for wheelchair transports for individuals who did not need them.

Attorney General Announces Arrest of Wanted Sex Offender

On Tuesday, as part of Attorney General DeWine's Crimes Against Children Initiative, he and Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly asked for help finding Justin Lee Scott, a Sexually Oriented Offender who stopped registering his address with Clark County authorities in January.

Attorney General DeWine Praises Unanimous Supreme Court Smoking Law Ruling

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine praised the unanimous Ohio Supreme Court ruling issued today that upheld both the constitutionality and the state’s enforcement of the citizen-initiated and voter-approved law restricting workplace smoking. Zeno’s bar in Columbus, which owes more than $40,000 as a repeat violator of the smoking ban, had challenged the law.

WANTED SEX OFFENDER: Justin Lee Scott

Justin Lee Scott, who last registered with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in January, is wanted on a charge of Failure to Provide a Change of Address.  A warrant was issued for his arrest in March.

Attorney General DeWine Looking for Info on PJG Enterprises

Owners of Pain Clinics in Dayton and Scioto County Indicted for Illegal Distribution of Prescription Drugs

The indictment alleges that from November 2009 until November 2010 Callihan, who has no formal medical training, served as the primary owner and controlled the day-to-day operations of the clinics. Stegawski, who received a medical degree from Warsaw Medical School in Warsaw, Poland in 1977 allegedly represented himself as a chronic pain management doctor at Eastside Medical Specialist, Lucasville Medical Specialist and at an unnamed clinic located in Southpoint, Ohio.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Settlement With Skechers to Pay Up to $45 Million Over Deceptive Advertising of Shoes

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today joined the Federal Trade Commission, 43 states, and the District of Columbia in announcing a settlement with Skechers USA, Inc. to resolve claims that Skechers overstated weight-loss benefits in advertisements for its rocker-bottom athletic shoes, including Shape-ups, Tone-ups, and the Skechers Resistance Runner.

Attorney General DeWine Applauds New DNA Law

Senate Bill 268 closes several gaps left open by Senate Bill 77, which went into effect last year.  Senate Bill 77 allowed for DNA collection only from those who had been arrested for a felony crime.  The new law now allows specimen collection from anyone who is indicted by a grand jury or summoned into court on felony charges.
