New Study Committee to Examine Drug Use Prevention Education in Ohio Schools

On August 11th, 2016, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, Senate President Keith Faber, and House Speaker Clifford Rosenberger announced the formation of a study committee that will examine the current state of drug use prevention education in Ohio schools and recommend strategies to implement this type of education in all grade levels across the state.  The first meeting of the group directly followed the announcement.

BCI and Battelle Bring Next Generation Sequencing to BCI’s Forensic Lab

On July 14, 2016, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, along with Battelle President and CEO Dr. Jeffrey Wadsworth, announced a ground-breaking Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Project at the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Laboratory in London, Ohio. This new technology will enhance BCI’s DNA testing capabilities in solving missing persons cases in Ohio. The project involves Battelle scientists working with BCI scientists in London with the common goal of assisting in law enforcement efforts and helping Ohio families.
