Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that the Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Kit Commission has unanimously approved a new recommended submission policy for sexual assault kits in Ohio.

Attorney General DeWine Reaches Settlement with Owner of Air Duct Cleaning Businesses

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a settlement with Scott M. Loewenstine, owner of the Duct Doctor, Ltd., to resolve concerns that his Columbus-area duct cleaning operation violated Ohio consumer law. As a result of the negotiations, Loewenstine has paid more than $15,000 in consumer restitution. 

“We are pleased that Mr. Loewenstine has agreed to change his business practices and reimburse consumers,” Attorney General DeWine said. “This agreement provides restitution to past customers and will help protect future customers from unfair business practices.”

Attorney General DeWine Reaches Agreement with Cleaning Service to Pay Restitution

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today a settlement with Rob’s Cleaning Service, which also used the names “Ductman” or “The Ductman.” In April, Attorney General DeWine filed a lawsuit against the business charging it with multiple violations of Ohio consumer laws.

“We received complaints from dozens of consumers about this business,” said Attorney General DeWine. “But the owner worked with us to reach an agreement where the company will pay restitution and conduct business in compliance with Ohio’s consumer laws."

Attorney General DeWine Praises Unanimous Supreme Court Smoking Law Ruling

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine praised the unanimous Ohio Supreme Court ruling issued today that upheld both the constitutionality and the state’s enforcement of the citizen-initiated and voter-approved law restricting workplace smoking. Zeno’s bar in Columbus, which owes more than $40,000 as a repeat violator of the smoking ban, had challenged the law.

Attorney General DeWine Praises Sixth Circuit Decision Supporting Ohio EPA, Small Business

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine praised today’s ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Sierra Club v. Korleski, upholding Ohio’s Air Pollution Control Laws as they pertain to small businesses.

Attorney General DeWine Praises Senate Passage of Cyber Fraud Legislation

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine applauded today’s passage of legislation in the Ohio Senate that strengthens laws pertaining to cyber fraud. Senate Bill 223, which was approved unanimously, gives the Attorney General’s Office authority to investigate cyber fraud crimes and prepare cases for local prosecution.

Attorney General DeWine Praises Passage of Cyber Fraud, Blue Alert Legislation

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine praised today's passage by the Ohio General Assembly of new legislation that will strengthen his ability to pursue cyber fraud and assist in prosecutions. State Sen. Kevin Bacon (R-Minerva Park) sponsored SB 223 and Rep. Ross McGregor (R-Springfield) sponsored companion legislation.

Attorney General DeWine Praises Medical Board’s Revocation of Lundeen’s License

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine praised today’s vote by the Ohio State Medical Board to permanently revoke the medical license of James E. Lundeen Sr. The board’s vote follows the recommendation of a hearing examiner who found last month that Lundeen was overprescribing medication to patients at his offices in Portsmouth and Plymouth. The Attorney General's Office has been involved in the investigation and represented the Ohio State Medical Board at the license hearing.

Attorney General DeWine Praises Indictments in Norman Case

Attorney General Mike DeWine today praised the indictments and arrests made in the case of the death of 14-year-old Makayla Norman, who had cerebral palsy and was under medical care. Her death was ruled a homicide by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.
