(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Jeremy Nelson of Trabuco Canyon, California, and his two companies for operating debt settlement businesses that took money from consumers to settle their debts but failed to deliver on their promises.

Attorney General DeWine Sues Basement Remodeling Business for Consumer Law Violations

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Webb Contracting, LLC and its owner, Brett Webb, for violations of Ohio’s consumer laws.

“Imagine paying a company several thousand dollars for home improvement work that is never completed as promised,” Attorney General DeWine said. “That’s the experience that consumers said they had with this business. We tried to resolve the issues with Mr. Webb, but those efforts have failed, leaving us no choice but to file this lawsuit.”

Attorney General DeWine Says Ohio Will Receive $23 Million in Vioxx Settlement

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that Ohio has joined with 42 other states and the federal government in reaching an agreement with Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp. to settle civil and criminal allegations that Merck marketed its drug Vioxx for uses not approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), misrepresented the cardiovascular safety issues relating to the drug, and otherwise made false and misleading representations about Vioxx.

Attorney General DeWine Requests that U.S. Supreme Court Take Up Health Care Lawsuit

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and colleagues from twenty-five states today filed a petition for a writ of certiorari asking the U.S. Supreme Court to take up the constitutional issues surrounding the Obama heath care reform act.  States in the case of State of Florida et al., v. United States Department of Health and Human Services, et. al are challenging the health care law and its unprecedented claim of federal power to require individuals to go into the marketplace and buy federally-approved health care coverage or face penalties.
