Adams County Man Arrested on Charge of Pandering Sexually Oriented Material Involving a Minor

7/8/2015

(MANCHESTER, Ohio) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today the arrest of an Adams County man on a felony charge of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.

Stephen Lykins, 57, of Manchester, was arrested this afternoon by agents with the Attorney General's Crimes Against Children Unit.

The arrest follows an investigation conducted by the Crimes Against Children Unit and Adams County Sheriff's Office which accuses Lykins of allegedly sharing pornographic images of children online.

Authorities served a search warrant at Lykins' Snelling Avenue home this morning and confiscated computers and other evidence.

Officers with the Manchester Police Department assisted with the search warrant.

Lykins is currently in custody at the Adams County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.

Attorney General DeWine created the Crimes Against Children Unit, which is part of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, in 2011.  The unit assists law enforcement agencies throughout the state to investigate cases involving juvenile victims.   In 2014, the unit worked 150 cases in 46 Ohio counties, executed 24 search warrants, and made 19 arrests.
