(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that a Marysville nurse has been indicted by a Franklin County Grand Jury on three felony counts related to a Medicaid fraud scheme.
Julia A. Andrews, 51, of Marysville, was indicted on the following counts:
- Aggravated Theft, a third degree felony
- Falsification in a Theft Offense, a third degree felony
- Medicaid Fraud, a fourth degree felony
Andrews is alleged to have stolen $232,609.49 through billing for home health nursing services that were never provided to a patient. If convicted on all counts, in addition to restitution, Andrews could face up to seven years and six months in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
Andrews is also employed by the State Medical Board of Ohio, but her charges are unrelated to her work with the Medical Board.
The case was investigated by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office Health Care Fraud Section.
