Father Pleads Guilty to Endangering Children, Felonious Assault

2/1/2016

(COSHOCTON, Ohio)— Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that a Coshocton man has pleaded guilty to charges connected with the assault of an infant last year.

Christian Kibler, 22, pleaded guilty to one felony count of endangering children and one felony count of felonious assault in Coshocton County Common Pleas Court this morning.

Kibler was indicted in May 2015 after traumatically injuring his infant child.  Evidence gathered by investigators with the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office showed that the defendant was alone with the victim when the injuries were inflicted.

"It is my goal to do everything I can to protect children in Ohio, and those who choose to harm them will be held accountable," said Attorney General DeWine.

The case is being prosecuted by prosecutors with Attorney General DeWine's Special Prosecutions Section working as part of Attorney General DeWine's Crimes Against Children Initiative.

Kibler is expected to be sentenced within the next month.

The child is now in the custody of his mother.
