DeWine Testifies in Washington About Fannie Mae and its Former Executives Sticking Taxpayers with Their Legal Bills

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) — Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine testified today before the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee regarding the astronomical amount of U.S. taxpayer dollars going to pay for attorney fees to defend Fannie Mae and its former executives. At least $132 million has been spent by taxpayers on legal fees in the case so far, and the tab keeps rising.

Pension Funds to File Complaint Against BP in Securities Class-Action

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, acting in his capacity as counsel for lead plaintiffs for a class of pension plans and investors around the country, authorized the filing today in U.S. District Court in Houston of a consolidated class-action against British Petroleum (BP) and other defendants. The Complaint alleges that BP was wholly unprepared to prevent and deal with the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster.

Attorney General Mike DeWine Announces $26 Million Medicaid Fraud Settlement with Dayton Managed Care Firm

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a $26 million settlement with CareSource, a Dayton-based managed health care company, and its related corporate entities. The settlement resolves allegations that CareSource submitted false data and received reimbursements from Medicaid for health care services it did not provide.
