(CLEVELAND) — A Cuyahoga County corrections officer, Idris-Farid Clark, was arrested today after a criminal complaint was filed for extortion and intimidation.
For actions that occurred on or about Aug. 21, 2019, Clark faces charges of:
- Two counts of Extortion (F3)
- One count of Intimidation (F3)
Clark is in custody at the Geauga County Jail. His bond was set at $100,000 actual cash property or surety with no contact with sheriff or jail employees.
Clark was previously indicted on April 8, 2019, for an offense that occurred on July 16, 2018. Clark allegedly sprayed an inmate with pepper foam after the inmate had been placed in a restraint chair. Clark was charged with Felonious Assault (F2), Assault (M1), Interfering with Civil Rights (M1) and Unlawful Restraint (M3).
Agents from the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the FBI completed the investigation leading to Clark’s arrest today.
The Special Prosecutions section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting this case. Indictments merely contain allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
