Details
The Markley children returned from school to find nobody at home. The gun cabinet was unlocked, but no guns were missing. A lock box was found open with the contents pulled out and sitting on a dresser. The tarps were missing that covered John's Corvette which was never left uncovered. John's pickup truck was missing and was later found locked and abandoned 10 miles from home. The Markley's cell phone was found inside the truck. A $1,000 check was written out to cash on the day of their disappearance. The drive-through bank teller remembers John driving the truck, Shelly writing the check on the dashboard and another man sitting next to Shelly in the truck.
