On June 26, 1994 at approximately 8:50 pm, 20yr old William Smith left his girlfriend’s residence in the 100 block of East Liberty Street. Smith was confronted by 2 men in front of 117 East Liberty. One of the men opened fire on Smith with a handgun. Smith was shot multiple times. The shooter and the other man fled in a gray Lincoln Continental Ohio License BOX763, (which was later recovered). Smith was found by police and paramedics, lying on the sidewalk. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Eyewitnesses report many people were in the area that may have crucial information to help solve this case.
