On 01/01/2013, Cory Blackwell was shot and killed inside the Sunset Lounge at 480 E. Market St. He had attended a New Years Eve party at the Sunset and was exiting the building when he was shot by a suspect who was positioned just outside the door, on the sidewalk. Despite a large crowd being present, nobody came forward to identify a suspect. Detectives do have a suspect but need the assistance of witnesses in order to prosecute the offender.
