Isaac Molnar
Isaac Molnar, Intellectual Property Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General, works closely with Ohio universities and businesses to improve commercialization in the State of Ohio, and advises various state entities on the full spectrum of Intellectual Property issues.
Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office, Molnar worked 12+ years in private practice for Sidley & Austin, Jones Day and Porter Wright. He is an accomplished litigator with expertise in the area of patent litigation and patent counseling. He has significant courtroom experience that includes successfully trying patent damages issues to a jury in October, 2009; successfully representing defendant in a preliminary injunction hearing concerning trade secrets in September, 2009; and being an integral part of the trial team that obtained a final patent damages award of $179 million after affirmance by the Federal Circuit.
Molnar has extensive non-litigation experience including counseling clients concerning a broad spectrum of patent and other intellectual property issues as well as negotiating and drafting licenses and settlement agreements. He is licensed to practice before the USPTO.
Molnar is also an adjunct professor at Case Western Law School co-teaching class on Patent Litigation.
Molnar holds a law degree from The Ohio State University’s Mortiz College of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from The Ohio State University.
