Fraud: A Hidden Cost
Fraud negatively impacts both employers (increased premiums), injured workers (not receiving benefits that they are entitled to), and the overall workers’ compensation system (distrust, lost wages, wasted time). Examples of fraud include, but are not limited to, employers underreporting payroll to lower premiums, injured workers unlawfully collecting benefits, and doctors billing for services not rendered.
