Summary Language Rejected for Election-Related Amendment

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today rejected the petition for the proposed “Ohio Voters Bill of Rights” because the summary of the petition was not “a fair and truthful statement of the measure to be referred.”

Additional Indictments Issued Against Peter Beck, Co-Conspirators

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph T. Deters today announced that additional indictments have been issued against State Representative and Certified Public Accountant Peter A. Beck and several co-conspirators in connection with their activities involving Ohio software company Christopher Technologies, LLC, or CTech.

Car Dealership Accused of Advertising Violations

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a lawsuit against Monroe Dodge-Chrysler, Inc., which does business as Monroe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Superstore, of Monroe, Michigan. The Attorney General’s lawsuit accuses the dealership of using deceptive advertisements.

Former Pharmacist Sentenced to Pay More Than $300,000, Serve Two Years in Prison

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio Steven Dettelbach announced today that a former Ohio pharmacist has been ordered to pay more than $300,000 for illegally filling prescriptions at a Salem, Ohio, pharmacy for more than two years.

Man Sentenced to Prison, Ordered to Pay More Than $100,000 for OPERS Theft

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien, and Ohio Public Employees Retirement System General Counsel Julie Emch Becker announced today that an Arizona man was ordered to repay the state of Ohio more than $100,000 he stole by using the identity of his deceased mother over a period of approximately 23 years.

Attorney General DeWine Awards Additional $3.8 Million in Demolition Grants

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today awarded more than $3.8 million in additional demolition grants to 87 Ohio counties. The additional grants were a reallocation of unrequested funds from the "Ohio Attorney General’s Moving Ohio Forward Program."

Attorney General DeWine Releases February Sexual Assault Kit Testing Update

 In an effort to keep the public up-to-date on the progress of the Sexual Assault Kit (SAK) Testing Initiative, Attorney General DeWine released the following status update today: 
As of February 1, 2014:
Forensic scientists with the Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) have received 5,523 previously untested rape kits from 121 law enforcement agencies in Ohio.
BCI has completed DNA testing on 2,737of those rape kits. 
The DNA testing has led to 886 hits in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS).

Three Individuals Sentenced to Prison in Statewide Office Creeper Case

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell today announced that three individuals have been sentenced to prison for their roles in a statewide crime ring that involved sneaking into dozens of corporations throughout Ohio and stealing employees’ credit cards.

As part of his Ohio Unsolved Homicides Initiative, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking for information regarding the murder of a 24-year-old Cincinnati resident in 2007.
