Attorney General DeWine News Conference Announcing New BCI Electronic Detection K-9
This morning, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine will introduce a new Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) special agent who is trained to detect hidden electronic devices with his nose.
Reptar, an Electronic Detection K-9, was trained to assist BCI special agents with Attorney General DeWine's Crimes Against Children Unit in locating electronics, such as cell phones, SD cards, and USB storage devices, hidden by suspects in child pornography investigations.
Any law enforcement agency in Ohio will be able to request the Labrador Retriever and his BCI handler to assist in investigations including, but not limited to, child pornography cases.
