Meet Jim Saunders, a field investigator in the Crime Victim Services Section of Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s Office. Jim has been with the office for more than 25 years. As one of 10 field investigators, Jim investigates crime victim compensation claims by contacting law enforcement, obtaining police reports, and performing background checks.
Additionally, Jim will follow up with the courts to obtain information about the criminal charges and sentencing information on the suspects. After Jim has gathered all of this information, he summarizes the facts in a Field Report.
What does Jim enjoy most about being a part of the CVS section? “Being able to see the help we can provide to the victims. Most of us can only imagine what the victim and their family members are going through,” responded Jim.
Before coming to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Jim sold wholesale carpet to stores throughout the state. Jim has been married to his wife, Diane, for 32 years and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Nicole, both recent graduates of The Ohio State University.
Jim enjoys a nice meal of steak with an ice cold Pepsi in the company of his family. He is a big sports fan, supporting all Ohio teams but especially The Ohio State University Buckeyes. Jim has a dog named Bo -- not named after Bo Schembechler. The Crime Victim Services Section is lucky to have Jim Saunders.
