Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is pushing back on plaintiff counsel’s notion that they should pocket 33% of a First Energy ratepayer class-action settlement.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost issued the following statement today on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to review Ohio Adjutant General v. Federal Labor Relations Authority. The case asks whether the Federal Labor Relations Authority, often called the “FLRA,” has the power to regulate the Ohio National Guard and its Adjutant General.

A Cincinnati business owner who used his four companies to illegally discard waste at three sites – and whose dumping may have polluted the Little Miami River – has been ordered to pay a civil penalty of $550,000 and clean up his mess, Attorney General Dave Yost announced today.
One-fourth of the penalty – $137,500 – will be awarded to the Little Miami Conservancy.
