(LOVELAND, Ohio)— Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that a one-time registered sex offender has been arrested as part of a child exploitation investigation.
Agents with the Attorney General's Crimes Against Children Unit, which is a division of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), arrested Jeffrey Clements, 33, yesterday.
The Hamilton County man was arrested on felony charges of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor and pandering obscenity involving a minor. Additional charges are anticipated.
BCI agents and Loveland Police served a search warrant on Clements' Marbea Drive home yesterday after an investigation found that he allegedly possessed child pornography.
Upon serving the search warrant, agents uncovered additional evidence that revealed that Clements allegedly created some of the material in his possession and at least one area female under the age of 13 was victimized.
"The allegations against this suspect are horrific," said Attorney General DeWine. "I created the Crimes Against Children Unit at BCI to seek out those who are exploiting children in this state. The investigation is ongoing, as agents work to determine if there are any additional local victims."
Anyone with information is urged to contact BCI at 855-BCI-OHIO.
Clements was previously convicted of a charge of child enticement with sexual motivation in Hamilton County. His duty to register as a sex offender expired in 2012.
