Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that his office’s Identity Theft Unit received nearly 3,500 complaints and helped identity theft victims clear over $1 million in fraudulent debt during the unit’s first three years of existence, according to complaint information.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Support for Child Credit Freeze Bill

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced support for Ohio House Bill 317, which would allow parents or guardians to “freeze” a child’s credit record to help stop identity thieves from opening accounts in the child’s name. The bill was introduced today by Representative Ron Maag (R-Lebanon).
