WANTED SEX OFFENDER: Larry "Shytown" Hyche

9/13/2012

(SPRINGFIELD, Ohio) – As part of his Crimes Against Children Initiative, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is asking for the public's help locating a convicted rapist who is now accused of breaking another law.

Deputies with the Clark County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for the arrest of Larry Hyche in late June.  He is wanted on a charge of Failure to Provide a Change of Address.

According to public records, Hyche was convicted of raping two girls under the age of 13 in Montgomery County in 2002.  He was released from prison in 2006 and classified as a sexually oriented offender which carries the address registration requirement of once a year for ten years.

In March, Hyche registered himself as living at the Villager Inn on West North Street in Springfield, but according to his indictment, Clark County deputies received a tip in June that Hyche was no longer living at that location.  Public records indicate Hyche was asked to leave the property due to complaints from other residents.  His current whereabouts are unknown.

Hyche goes by the street name Shytown.

The suspect has several tattoos, including a drawing of a rose with the name Jeanette on his right arm, the name Phyllis on his right shoulder, and the word "Phatice H" on his left shoulder.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Larry Hyche should contact the Clark County Sheriff's Office or the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at 855-BCI-OHIO (855-224-6446).

As part of the Crimes Against Children Initiative, Attorney General DeWine will publicize convicted sex offenders who have victimized children and are wanted on outstanding warrants.  Other parts of the initiative include the establishment of a Crimes Against Children Unit at BCI, creation of a rapid response team for crimes against children, and specialized law enforcement training through BCI and the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA).
