(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced a consumer protection lawsuit against a Columbus used car seller accused of failing to deliver vehicle titles to customers.
The lawsuit accuses Capital City Car Brokers LLC and owners Michael J. A. Boyd and Sherlin E. Boyd of violating Ohio’s Consumer Sales Practices Act.
Since 2016, the Attorney General’s Office has received 16 complaints against Capital City Car Brokers, which operates at 716 Sullivant Ave. in Columbus. In some cases, claims were paid from the state’s Title Defect Recision Fund to help consumers who bought a vehicle from the dealership but never received the title.
The Attorney General’s lawsuit seeks an end to any violations of the law, reimbursement to affected consumers, and reimbursement to the Title Defect Recision Fund.
