(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today released his 2016 Report to the General Assembly on Compliance with State Awards for Economic Development. The report, which is required to be submitted by the Attorney General to the General Assembly pursuant to statute, analyzes whether companies and organizations who were awarded certain economic development incentives complied with the requirements of those state awards. Today's report reviewed recipients which had performance periods ending in calendar year 2015.
The report determined 329 awards had a performance period ending in 2015. The report found that 279 awards were in substantial compliance while 50 awards did not comply, resulting in an overall compliance rate of 84.8%. The report also listed compliance rates by award categories:
- Workforce Compliance Rate: 100% (33 of 33 awards in substantial compliance)
- Grant Compliance Rate: 86.3% (101 of 117)
- Tax Credit Compliance Rate: 80.0% (92 of 115)
- Loan Compliance Rate: 82.8% (53 of 64)
