Columbus –  Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today opened the 20th annual Two Days in May Conference, bringing together the dedicated men and women who help victims of crime. This nationally recognized victim advocacy conference works to continually improve the services offered to crime victims and discover new ways to help. More than 1000 people are expected to attend.

Attorney General DeWine Files Suit Against Cleveland Foreclosure Rescue Company

(CLEVELAND, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced his office has filed a lawsuit against The Modification Group LLC (TMG), a Cleveland business that offered to help homeowners avoid foreclosure in exchange for $1,995 or more. The lawsuit alleges multiple violations of Ohio consumer law, including failure to deliver.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Settlement Over Hollywood Video Debt Collection

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today along with 49 other state attorneys general and the District of Columbia announced a settlement to resolve allegations of unfair debt collection practices for Hollywood Video and Movie Gallery customer accounts.

Attorney General DeWine Announces Mahoning Valley Fugitive Safe Surrender Program to Begin in 2012

(YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio)—Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that the Fugitive Safe Surrender program will expand to the Mahoning Valley beginning in 2012. DeWine made his announcement as part of a crime safety summit held at St. Dominic’s Church in Youngstown.

Attorney General DeWine Announces BCI Office Opening in Athens

ATHENS – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced that a new regional office of the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) will open in Athens to help better serve law enforcement in Southeast Ohio counties.

"I am pleased that we will be able to better serve local law enforcement and county prosecutors in Southeast Ohio by opening a regional BCI office in Athens," said Attorney General DeWine. "Having an office in Athens will make it easier for law enforcement to deliver evidence to be processed by our lab and also to give them access to full-time polygraph services."

Attorney General DeWine Announces Agreement to Recover Medicaid Funds

(Columbus, OH) – Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that Ohio has joined other states and the federal government to reach an agreement in principle with pharmaceutical manufacturer EMD Serono to settle allegations of causing false or fraudulent claims for Rebif to be submitted to the Medicaid program.
