(MANSFIELD, Ohio) – Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is reaching out to the community to help law enforcement track down a convicted sex offender who has eluded police for nearly six years.
Juan Jose Gonzalez, a sexually oriented offender, last registered himself as living in Mansfield, Ohio. He was convicted in 2003 on a charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. The victim was a juvenile female.
After his release from prison, records show that he was arrested on a probation violation in 2005 and returned to prison until April 2006. Six months later, when Gonzalez failed to register his address, authorities in Richland County issued a warrant for his arrest.
The 31-year-old has several distinct tattoos, including the words “Brown Side” on the left side of his neck. He also has an Aztec Indian tattoo on his back and a picture of a mother and two angels on his chest.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Juan Jose Gonzalez should contact the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at 855-BCI-OHIO (855-224-6446).
This release is part of Attorney General Mike DeWine’s Crimes Against Children Initiative. As part of the Crimes Against Children Initiative, Attorney General DeWine will publicize convicted sex offenders who have victimized children and are wanted on outstanding warrants. Other parts of the initiative include the establishment of a Crimes Against Children Unit at BCI, creation of a rapid response team for crimes against children, and specialized law enforcement training through BCI and the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA).
