(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - Attorney General Mike DeWine announced today that Mary Gallagher, executive vice president and chief of staff at the Ohio Hospital Association, and Joyce Garver Keller, executive director of Ohio Jewish Communities, were elected this week to serve as chair and co-chair of the Ohio Attorney General's Charitable Advisory Council. The council provides the Charitable Law Section of the Ohio Attorney General's Office with feedback and suggestions on training needs within the sector or trends among charities operating in the state.
"The council is a valuable asset in our work to protect donors and charities," said Attorney General DeWine. "I am grateful for the efforts of the council members and look forward to their insights."
DeWine noted that members of the Charitable Advisory Council played an important role in the development of the online charitable registration system, implemented by the Attorney General's Office in 2011, that charities throughout the state are required to use to fulfill their annual registration requirements.

- Stephanie Moulton, assistant professor, Ohio State University
- Jennifer Odenweller, executive director, United Way of Knox County
- Thomas Poulson, director of finance, Willow Brook Christian Communities
"Our job is to provide oversight to help ensure that, when donors contribute to an organization, there is an active board of directors evaluating operations and ensuring the wise use of resources," said DeWine.
The Attorney General appoints all members of the council and their terms expire with the term of the Attorney General. Members receive no compensation or reimbursement of expenses.
