Attorney General Makes Recommendations for Law Enforcement Training

8/30/2013

(COLUMBUS) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today sent a letter to Ohio’s legislative leaders outlining recommendations on how to best use the funds from the gross casino tax revenue to enhance public safety and provide additional law enforcement training opportunities.

As mandated by the Ohio Constitution, two percent of gross casino tax revenue is dedicated to law enforcement training, with 85% going to the Ohio Attorney General’s Peace Officer Training Academy and 15% going to the Office of Criminal Justice Services.

Attorney General DeWine convened an advisory group of state and local law enforcement representatives to help determine how to best use the funding.
