Attorney General DeWine Announces Arrest of Woman on Rape, Child Pornography Charges

8/22/2013

(YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine today announced the arrest of a Youngstown woman on child pornography and rape charges.

Agents with Attorney General DeWine's Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit arrested Connie Ramirez, 43, on charges of Rape, Gross Sexual Imposition, Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor, and Possession of Criminal Tools.

Ramirez is currently in custody at the Mahoning County Jail on $500,000 bond.

"The evidence our agents found in this case is disturbing, and this is exactly why I formed the Crimes Against Children Unit to go after child predators who think it is acceptable to abuse kids," said Attorney General DeWine.

Agents with the CAC Unit, which is a division of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), began investigating Ramirez after serving a search warrant at the Niles home of William Brock Sr., 832 Mason Street, last month.  Agents later traced some of the evidence seized from the home to Ramirez.

Agents served a search warrant at Ramirez's residence, 1790 South Meridian Road, Youngstown, on Tuesday.  Several items were seized and are currently being reviewed for additional evidence.

Brock is in the Trumbull County Jail on charges of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor.

Officers with the Niles Police Department, Austintown Township Police Department, and Federal Bureau of Investigation have assisted in the investigations.
