On July 25, 1979 at approximately 1:47 AM, Austintown Police Department (Mahoning County) responded to a gunshots call at 60 North Raccoon Road. Upon arrival, decedent John R. Tobin was found in the parking lot near his residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Decedent Tobin was transported to Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center, where his death was pronounced.
