Tonya was last seen in the area of Lockbourne Rd. and Smith Rd. the evening of Wednesday, January 9, 2002. She was last seen wearing a purple and black jacket, black jeans, tan boots and a black Nike stocking cap. Her hair was much shorter than shown in the photos. On January 12, 2002, the nude body of Tonya Darden was found in a rural wooded area located in the southern part of Franklin County. The cause of death was strangulation per the Franklin County Coroner's Office. Tonya Darden was a known prostitute and crack addict. Tonya was last seen on the 10th of January. Tonya Darden resided in a van with her boyfriend. The van stayed in the area of Lockbourne Rd. and Smith Rd., which is in the southeastern part of Franklin County.
