On July 29, 2016 at approximately 11:23 p.m., Columbus Police Officers responded to the rear of 1157 E. 18th Avenue on the report of a male that had been shot. Upon arrival, the officers located the victim, later identified as 33yr old Michael Beatty, lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. CFD Medic 18 responded, but found Mr. Beatty had already succumbed to his injuries. Mr. Beatty was pronounced deceased at 11:32 p.m.
