Throughout Ohio in 2022, law enforcement officers will be taking additional training to better protect themselves and the public. More than 33,000 Ohio law enforcement officers will be required to take Continuing Professional Training (CPT).

When opioid overdose deaths spiked during the COVID-19 pandemic, AG Yost knew something had to be done. Two Drug Dropoff Day events hosted by Yost have yielded more than a 1,100 pounds of unused or expired prescription medications, and a third drop-off day is being planned for this summer.

Police officers from Toledo and Columbus faced off in a hockey fundraiser to pay tribute to fallen Toledo Officers Anthony Dia and Brandon Stalker. More than $13,500 was raised on ticket sales, with the proceeds benefitting a scholarship fund named in memory of the officers.

The state will pay up to 50% of officers’ salaries while they take the training. To bring home this funding, though, agencies must send the Attorney General's Office salary information by Nov. 1, 2021.

One of the primary goals of the Attorney General’s Law Enforcement Conference is to honor and celebrate great work by law enforcement officers and their partners. Every year, whether the event takes place virtually or in person, the Distinguished Law Enforcement Awards are bestowed in seven categories.
