Update for POBT topics 11-7 Drug Awareness and 11-18 Meth & Clandestine Labs

3/18/2013

Peace Officer Basic Drug Topic(s) Instructor,

The email from May 7th, was sent out notifying you of a mandatory instructor update for the Peace Officer Basic Training (POBT) topics of 11-7 Drug Awareness and 11-18 Meth & Clandestine Labs. To re-cap, if you are currently approved for 11-7 Drug Awareness, 11-18 Meth & Clandestine Labs, or Unit 11 Investigation, you may temporarily continue to teach the new 11-7 Drug Awareness.  Once you complete the instructor update, you must submit an amendment for your instructor certification.   If you do not complete the required update, you will no longer be eligible to teach this topic.

To assist in meeting the required instructor update, we originally held four free Drug Awareness/Methamphetamine Instructor Update courses, two in Richfield and two in London.  To assure that everyone desiring instructor certification had the opportunity to attend the update, two additional free courses were scheduled in London.   Please note that this will be the final course offering for this update.  If you have not taken one of the above mentioned updates and do not attend this session, you will no longer be eligible to teach this topic after June 30, 2013.

If you have a question about whether or not you need to take this update, please contact a Certification Officer.  General questions about these changes can be addressed by your assigned Certification or Compliance Officer; curriculum specific questions can be addressed by the Education and Policy Section, at 740-845-2700.
