Petition Summary Rejected Due to Omissions and Misstatements

 The Ohio Attorney General’s Office today rejected the petition summary of a proposed constitutional amendment, titled “Protecting Ohioans’ Constitutional Rights,” that seeks to add a Section 22 to Article I of the Ohio Constitution repealing constitutional immunities and defenses in cases alleging civil-rights violations by governmental units and public employees.

Indictment Filed in Hocking County Officer-Involved Critical Incident

A Hocking County man has been charged with 21 felonies, including attempted aggravated murder, for the nonfatal shooting of a sheriff’s deputy and a police K-9 during a standoff in July, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Hocking County Prosecutor Ryan Black announced today.

Speaking this morning at the County Auditors’ Association of Ohio’s Winter Conference, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced that the bulk of a $1 million settlement with Dollar General will go to food banks or other hunger-relief organizations spanning every one of the state’s 88 counties.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has reached a settlement with the organizer of a Kickstarter campaign who collected $31,753 from 101 supporters but didn’t deliver the goods he promised in return for pledges. He also failed to turn over donations to the charities identified as the campaign beneficiaries until he received pressure from the Attorney General’s Office and local police.
